Remember The Edmund

At the Whitefish Point Museum, they now gather at the shore
Oh the friends and mates and loved ones, and the memories they adore
Twenty nine times for twenty nine lives, the Edmund's bell will toll
Rest the Husbands Sons and Fathers, we lost twenty nine years ago

We Hear them in the stories, and we can see them in our dreams
We feel them in our hearts and souls, our loss was so extreme
As heads are bowed the bell is struck, the same bell that they rang
If you listen close you can hear the song and the words that Gordan sang

Far below the surface, is their final resting place
The mighty Lake Superior, now keeps a tight embrace
In the shadows of the Edmund, where the deep dark waters flow
Rest the Husbands Sons and Fathers,  we lost twenty nine years ago

At the Whitefish Point Museum, they now gather at the shore
Oh the friends and mates and loved ones, and the memories they adore
Twenty nine times for twenty nine lives, the Edmund's bell will toll
Rest the Husbands Sons and Fathers, we lost twenty nine years ago

On the shores of Giche Gummi, far below the Northern Sun
Today the Lake lies peacful, as if she mourns for what she's done
As you stand there on the lake shore, and the shadows all grow long
As the wind blows through the pine trees, you can almost hear the song

Now sailors pass in reverance, and they bow thier heads to pray
To remember fallen brothers,  on that dark November day
Where the lighthouse stands at Whitefish Point, Thier names are laid in stone
To remind us of that fateful day, when a brave crew held thier own

At the Whitefish Point Museum, they now gather at the shore
Oh the friends and mates and loved ones, and the memories they adore
Twenty nine times for twenty nine lives, the Edmund's bell will toll
Rest the Husbands Sons and Fathers, we lost twenty nine years ago

At the Whitefish Point Museum, they now gather at the shore
Oh the friends and mates and loved ones, and the memories they adore
Twenty nine times for twenty nine lives, the Edmund's bell will toll
Rest the Husbands Sons and Fathers, we lost twenty nine years ago

To the Husbands Sons and Fathers, we lost twenty nine years ago
